FPTech Pty Ltd (“FPTech”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates the Vizz for AquaView mobile application (“Vizz” or “the App”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect information when you use Vizz for AquaView, including Direct, Local Area Network and Cloud features.

This policy applies to:

  • Android package name: com.fptech.vizz
  • iOS bundle identifier: com.fptech.vizz

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account information

When you create or use a Vizz account, we may collect and process:

  • Your email address
  • Your account identifier
  • Account verification and sign-in status
  • Password-reset and account-security information managed through our authentication provider

FPTech does not store your plain-text password.

1.2 AquaView unit and tank information

When you connect, register or use an AquaView unit with Vizz, we may collect and process information necessary to provide monitoring, configuration, support and cloud services, including:

  • AquaView unit ID
  • Unit friendly name, registration status and membership details
  • Tank type, capacity, calibration and configuration settings
  • Water level, water depth, water temperature and calculated water volume
  • Air pressure and air temperature reported by the AquaView unit
  • Firmware version, unit model and service status
  • Cloud update interval, notification settings and subscription level
  • Configuration version, configuration-delivery status and confirmation data
  • Alarm, notification and event information
  • Timestamps for readings, alerts, configuration changes and unit activity

1.3 Device, connection and diagnostic information

We may process technical information needed to operate and support Vizz, including:

  • Mobile device type, operating system and Vizz app version
  • Push-notification token
  • Local network connection information used to communicate with an AquaView unit
  • AquaView unit Wi-Fi signal strength, Wi-Fi network name and local IP address where reported by the unit
  • Connection, diagnostic and service information used to identify faults or resolve support requests

Vizz may use local-network access to find and communicate with your AquaView unit on your own network.

Vizz is not designed to collect your precise physical location.

1.4 Notifications

Where you enable Cloud Notifications, we may use your device push-notification token to send alerts relating to your AquaView unit, including low-water, high-water, service or configuration alerts.

You can disable notifications through Vizz or your device settings.

1.5 Support communications

When you contact FPTech for support, we may process information you provide, including:

  • Your name and email address
  • AquaView unit ID
  • Screenshots, logs and diagnostic information
  • The content of your support request

1.6 Purchases and subscriptions

Vizz may offer paid subscription plans, including AquaView Care and AquaView Complete.

Where subscriptions are available, Apple App Store or Google Play will process payment information. FPTech does not receive or store your full payment-card details.

We may receive and store subscription-related information required to provide access, including:

  • Product or subscription identifier
  • Purchase and entitlement status
  • Renewal, cancellation, billing-failure or expiry status
  • Store transaction references and validation information
  • Subscription-management information received from approved providers

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create, secure and manage Vizz accounts
  • Connect your mobile device to an AquaView unit
  • Display tank readings, status, history and configuration information
  • Provide Cloud monitoring and notifications where enabled
  • Deliver authorised configuration changes to registered AquaView units
  • Manage subscriptions, entitlements and service access
  • Detect faults, prevent misuse and protect Vizz services
  • Provide customer support and resolve technical issues
  • Meet legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and security obligations
  • Improve the reliability, performance and security of Vizz

We do not sell personal information.

We do not use personal information for third-party advertising or data-broker activities.

3. Direct, LAN and Cloud Use

Direct and LAN modes

When you use Direct or Local Area Network functionality, Vizz communicates with your AquaView unit through the unit’s Wi-Fi connection or your local network.

Some information may remain on your mobile device or AquaView unit when Cloud functionality is not enabled.

Cloud mode

When Cloud functionality is enabled for a registered AquaView unit, relevant monitoring, registration, configuration, notification and subscription information may be processed through FPTech-managed systems and approved cloud-service providers.

Premium cloud access requires an authenticated Vizz account and an active unit registration.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only where reasonably necessary to provide Vizz, comply with applicable law, protect users or operate our services.

This may include the following categories of recipients.

4.1 Cloud and infrastructure providers

We use trusted service providers, including Google Cloud services, for authentication, cloud storage, notifications and related infrastructure.

4.2 Notification providers

Where notifications are enabled, we use Google Cloud Messaging and, on Apple devices, Apple Push Notification service infrastructure to deliver notification messages.

4.3 App stores and subscription providers

Where paid subscriptions are offered, we may share limited account and purchase-status information with Apple, Google Play and approved subscription-management providers to validate purchases and manage access entitlements.

4.4 Service and support providers

We may use carefully selected providers that help us operate, secure, support or improve Vizz. These providers may process information only on our instructions and only for the purposes described in this policy.

4.5 Legal, security and safety reasons

We may disclose information where required by law, court order or lawful government request, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, property or security of FPTech, Vizz users or others.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including authenticated account access, restricted backend permissions, access controls and trusted cloud-service security controls.

Direct and LAN communications occur on your own local network. You are responsible for securing your home, business or site Wi-Fi network and protecting access to your AquaView unit.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect information, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

6. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Vizz, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements and maintain security.

Our general retention approach is:

  • Account information: retained while your Vizz account remains active, unless deletion is requested or retention is legally required.
  • Cloud monitoring, event and notification records: generally retained for up to 90 days, subject to the applicable Vizz service plan and operational requirements.
  • Support communications: retained for as long as needed to resolve your request and maintain reasonable business records.
  • Subscription and payment-related records: retained for as long as needed for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and legal compliance.

We may retain limited information after account deletion where necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or security.

7. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your Vizz account and associated cloud data through the Vizz app or through:

To protect your account, we may ask you to verify your identity before processing a deletion request.

When your account is deleted:

  • Your Vizz cloud account access will be removed.
  • Associated cloud registrations, memberships and account-linked data will be deleted or de-identified where reasonably possible.
  • Paid cloud access linked to the deleted account may end.
  • Local data stored directly on an AquaView unit may remain on the unit until it is reset or cleared through the applicable unit controls.

We aim to process valid deletion requests within 30 days, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention or accounting reasons.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and personal information
  • Disable notifications through Vizz or your device settings
  • Lodge a complaint with a relevant data-protection authority

9. Children’s Privacy

Vizz is not directed at children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

10. International Processing

Vizz may use cloud and infrastructure providers that process information in countries outside your country of residence.

Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure that information is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide notice through Vizz, our website or another appropriate method.
